Colleen, Nick and ‘That Dress’!

As Ben dropped me off at Edgware station, to start my journey to the Fitzrovia Chapel near Goodge Street, things were a little strained between us. Without so much as backward glance, I dragged my pink case along the pavement to the Tube entrance.

The building now known as the Fitzrovia Chapel was built in 1891–92 as the Middlesex Hospital Chapel. Between 1929 and 1935 the decaying 18th-century hospital building was gradually demolished and rebuilt around the Chapel. The Grade II*-listed edifice was preserved throughout the demolition and today the Chapel stands within Pearson Square, a privately owned public space named after the chapel’s architect.

Arriving at this beautiful chapel helped to lift my spirits. Sharon and her Chapel team were prepping for the wedding of C&T, and I was back in full wedding coordinator mode. The Groom and his ushers arrived, beautifully attired in waistcoats and despite trying to play cool, visibly excited. After helping attach their buttonholes, the boys were happily having a banter together whilst other guests arrived.

The Bride and her bridesmaids arrived via the side door and WOW, what a showstopper! The hottest pink wedding dress I’ve ever had the pleasure to lay eyes on. This was the stuff of styled shoots; not something you’d actually expect to see at a real live wedding! Adam of Ayelle Photography, captured That Dress! and Colleen’s beauty perfectly.

With that, the Groom arrived to claim his Bride and with the backdrop of the ornate Byzantine interior, they began the walk up the tiled aisle to coupledom. As part of the service, the couple had prepared personalised vows; there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when they had finished. I was particularly touched by the Groom’s description of the different elements of his love for his new wife and teared-up, I sent the Hubster a WhatsApp, to tell him I can remember why I married him.

With that, the newly married couple were applauded and cheered back down the aisle, and after a Champagne and canapes, the guests were guided to a double decker bus for the next part of their journey. DJ Marc spinning dance tunes, the party bus finally arrived at Pedro’s Wine Bar in Bermondsey for the wedding reception. The speeches were raucous and the Mother of the Bride, such a warm and beautiful character, was very memorable. After a fine meal by the wonderful crew from Paella Fella, C&N gave a polished performance for the wedding dance.

C&N, a gorgeous and stunning couple, I wish you both a fabulous life together. The future is extremely hot and rosy.
